Services designed to educate the general public or special high-risk target populations about mental illness, to increase the understanding and acceptance of problems associated with mental illness, to increase people's awareness of the availability of resources and services, and to improve people's skills in dealing with high-risk situations known to affect people's mental health and functioning.
